Trump.
Y añadió: “[Trump had talked to me about that before; he’s a huge fan, he’s a passionate royalist, he’s a huge angler, he’s half British, and loves the King.”
Additionally, Hardman said, “He also talked about William, said he’s going to be a great King, right? And very enthusiastic about the Princess of Wales, concerned about her health, but keen to see her back and said what a wonderful job she’s doing, and then he said, ‘can Harry make a comeback?'”
Hardman added, “And I said, ‘I don’t think on a present form that’s likely’, and he went ‘boy, that wife of his’, and then proceeded to say that the Duchess of Sussex, he said ‘what she’s done to that guy’, and sort of rolled his eyes, and the conversation then moved on again, but he was, it was the fact that I think he felt the Sussexes had sort of thrown it all away.”
Also, Hardman noted that Trump seemed to be in “upbeat form” regarding the visit, emphasizing that this represents a “big deal for the UK.” Trump is recognized for his royalist sympathies, a trait inherited from his Scottish mother.
He wrapped up by saying, “So this is an incredible diplomatic tool we have in the monarchy. This visit has been the best thing for British diplomacy and the transatlantic alliance in an age.”
Before King Charles and Queen Camilla left to go back home to the U.K. following their visit to the States last month, the royals stopped by the White House to bid farewell to the Trumps.
According to lip reader Nicola Hickling, Melania told the King and Queen, “Thank you. I wish you well and hope you have a good flight.”
