MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Video released by Arkansas State Police shows a three-year-old boy climbing out of an overturned Dodge Charger involved in a chase with state troopers.
ASP said the car crashed after a trooper performed a PIT maneuver to stop a speeding driver along Highway 118 on March 2 at around 2:30 in the afternoon.
The toddler and his mother, who was driving the vehicle when it came to a stop in a field, did not appear to be hurt.

Troopers said the driver, later identified as Thalia Jones, was going about 80 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone and refused to stop. They said when Jones approached the Joiner city limits, she swerved into an oncoming lane of traffic.
A trooper said that when he put his front bumper in the center of Jones’ rear bumper and accelerated to the right. It caused Jones to lose control of her vehicle, run over a sign and a mailbox, and eventually flip it in a field.
A trooper said he was standing behind his car with a rifle pointed at the suspect’s vehicle when the three-year-old walked toward him. He said he picked up the toddler as Jones crawled out of the Charger.
Jones and her son were both cleared by EMS on the scene.
The trooper was extremely upset when he realized there was a child in the car and scolded the mother for putting his life in danger.

Jones faces a slew of charges, including reckless driving, fleeing, endangering the welfare of a minor 1st degree, driving on a suspended license, and unauthorized use of another person’s property to facilitate a crime. The car belonged to her boyfriend.
ASP said the incident was reported to the Child Abuse Hotline.
