CALPELLA
Oct. 31 – The Enchanted Pumpkin Patch – The Waldorf School of Mendocino County hosts its annual Enchanted Pumpkin Patch, which offers a spectacular, refined sugar-free and scare-free Halloween adventure suitable for all ages. Guests can enjoy whimsical performances and receive a small gift at the end of each skit. Families can also gather at the Smokey Cauldron Café to enjoy seasonal treats and nourishing food. FORT BRAGG
Oct. 18 – Halloween Contest & Super Smash Bros. Competition – Enjoy an evening of spooky fun and video games at Kokkos Candy Shop. Oct. 26 – Spooktacular Halloween – The library hosts a spooktacular Halloween for kids. There will be (not so) scary stories and songs, carnival games and a drop-in trick or treat. Oct. 26 – Magic Market – Celebrate fall and spooky season in downtown Fort Bragg. The Magic Market features vendors, a costume contest, face-painting, wand-making, photo booths, live music, sidewalk art and more. Oct. 31 – Misfit Witches Paddle – Don your witchy finery and bring your kayak or stand-up paddle board and join a Halloween paddle in Noyo Harbor. Participants will meet at the Dolphin Isle boat ramp in south Noyo Harbor and paddle to the bridge at twilight. Jack o’lanterns and lights encouraged. Oct. 13 – Stone Stories – The Mendocino County Museum presents its annual Stone Stories event, which showcases a historic cemetery in the county. This year’s event will feature an afternoon of dramatized obituary readings by local volunteers, often dressed in costume based on the deceased’s era. This year includes Atta Stevenson of the Cahto Tribe who will share stories. MENDOCINO
Oct. 31 – Haunted Mendocino Walking Tour – Visit the homes, hideouts and hangouts of Mendocino’s well-known specters and learn about the town’s history along the way. Tour guide Rob has over ten years of research under his belt, including interviewing residents of the town’s many historic buildings to hear their own ghost stories. Costumes encouraged. Oct. 31 – Funk Soul Halloween Dance Party – Celebrate Halloween with San Francisco’s Fourth Position, a psychedelic funk and soul band. Local favorites Bryn & Blue Souls will open, and the Witches’ Dance will perform. A costume contest will take place. Oct. 25-27 – Drop Dead Ghoulgeous – Big Pink Spike Productions hosts an LGBTQ+-friendly Halloween camping weekend at the Incline, a mountain property in Potter Valley. Oct. 25 – 7th Annual DanceHall-O-Ween – Pick out your costume and prepare to dance the night away at McCarty’s annual dancehall Halloween party featuring Guerrilla Takeover playing reggae, hip-hop, remixes, electronic dance and more. Oct. 18-20 – Ukiah Country PumpkinFest – Go down the rabbit hole at Ukiah’s annual Pumpkin Fest. This year’s theme is Alice in Wonderland. The event includes a parade, carnival rides, haunted house, fire and safety expo, food court, beer and wine garden, a scarecrow city, scout-o-rama, children’s stage and activities, a baking contest, a basketball tournament, dog races and a pet costume contest. Oct. 19 – Halloween Party in the Gallery – Deep Valley Arts Collective hosts a devilishly good time at Medium Art Gallery for Halloween.
