Looking for something to do in Marion this week?
Here are five things going on in the community.
1. Buckeye Chuck Day
When: 7-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2
Where: Marion County Fairgrounds Coliseum, 220 E. Fairground St.
Cost: Free
What: Ohio’s official weather-predicting groundhog will be back in Marion for Buckeye Chuck Day. During the celebration, there will be food from A & M’s Donut Wagon available for purchase.
The event, hosted by iHeartMedia Marion’s 1490 WMRN, is asking Buckeye Chuck fans to make donations to support the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry. Community members can make cash donations or bring nonperishable food items to the event.
2. $10 Tuesdays at Kin & Kilt
When: 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28
Where: Kin & Kilt at 130 S. Prospect St.
Cost: $10
What: On $10 Tuesday, anyone 12 years old or older can get an hour of axe throwing for $10. Closed-toed shoes are required.
3. Carden International Circus at Veterans Memorial Coliseum
When: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 28-29
Where: Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum, 220 E. Fairground St.
Cost: $0-$40
What: The circus is in town. The Carden family presents aerial acrobats, elephants, camels and horses and so much more entertainment for the entire family. The entertainment stars an hour before showtime with pre-show activities such as animal rides, inflatables and face painting.
4. A Night of Magic with Tent Endsley
When: 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31
Where: Bucci’s Scratch Italian Kitchen, 320 W. Center St.
Cost: $12-$120 depending on table size
What: Magician Trent Endsley will take the stage for a night of illusions, sleight of hand and magic tricks. After the show Endsley and Magician Matt Everly will come around to tables and do some tricks up close.Seating is first come, first served (except for reserved tables). Tickets can be reserved online.
5. Sneaky Pete & The Players Live at the OK Cafe
When: 6 p.m. Saturday Feb. 1
Where: OK Cafe, 734 E. Center St.
Cost: Free
What: Sneaky Pete & The Players is a five-piece cover band that performs rock hits from the 1970s to today. They play classic rock while also dipping into popular songs that are sure to be a crowd pleasers.
