Solange may be working on new music.
The singer posted a picture of producer P’ierre Bourne in the studio that has fans thinking she’s finally ready to give them a follow up to 2019’s When I Get Home. The two were in Paris for Fashion Week as P’ierre has been in town also working on his upcoming project Made in Paris.
He recently told Complex that Young Nudy is the only feature planned on that tape. He is the only feature on my album,” he said in an interview. “If y’all want to hear some sh—t with us together, we usually do it on my albums and stuff, to be honest now that I think about it.” So, maybe he and Solange were figuring out way to incorporate the tuba into whatever they’re working on. That’s right, the tuba.
In early 2024, Solange told Harper’s Bazaar that she’s been writing music with the brass instrument in mind. “I’ve started writing music for the tuba,” she admitted. “And I am trying to talk myself into releasing it, but I can only imagine the eye rolls from people being like, this b—ch hasn’t made an album.”
Maybe she’s planning on following in Andre 3000‘s footsteps and pivoting to a straight instrumental album, but instead of the flute, she’ll be playing the tuba. One thing is for sure, though, whatever she has planned will be ahead of its time. “She is very important in the landscape,” Tyler, The Creator said of his friend in the aforementioned Harper’s profile. “And I don’t think that people are gonna fully give her her due until some time from now, which is okay. Because her music is going to still, 20 years from now, be a thing.”
