The 41-year-old still looked classy in a gorgeous simple sleeveless grey fitted midi dress with a high draped neckline.
She completed the look with leather studded pumps with a gold-plated heel from an online retailer currently on sale, according to The US Sun.
Despite viewers being more than pleased with her rendition, she left the event “furious” because of the technical difficulties.
According to an insider at Daily Mail, the singer felt snubbed.
They shared: “Her anxiety was high throughout the performance, and she felt that she was not afforded the same level of respect or admiration that previous performers, such as Beyoncé and Lady Gaga.”
“She felt as if she was ushered in and out and had a mini hissy fit afterwards,” the source said.
Underwood’s uncomfortability started way before the technical issues arose.
“Carrie was dissatisfied with her performance at the event, primarily due to the limited space she was given, which left her feeling cramped and uncomfortable.”
The insider claimed the singer’s attitude after the performance wasn’t any different than how she was acting beforehand.
“Carrie was the inauguration day diva,” the insider revealed. “She’d been telling anyone who wanted to listen that Trump called her personally to ask her to perform.”
She allegedly came in with a list of demands, including the dress, and “an army of security,” which didn’t including her “team of 20.”
The insider added: “She of course demanded tickets for her family and friends on top of that as well.”
Underwood came into the performance with a cold demeanor, trying to block out the backlash for her controversial decision to perform at the event.
“She stopped reading the backlash because Carrie does not care what others think of her,” the insider said.
They went on: “She stopped caring years ago. She has come from such humble beginnings, but she is not that same person anymore.”
