The legal dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni is set to go before a jury.
The conflict between the It Ends With Us co-stars has resulted in multiple lawsuits, including accusations of sexual harassment against Baldoni.
Federal Judge Lewis J. Liman in New York has scheduled the trial for March 9, 2026. In the meantime, lawyers will continue examining claims of defamation, extortion, sexual harassment, among others.
The feud became public during a press tour for the romance film.
Lively faced backlash online for her participation in a film about domestic violence, while Baldoni received praise for promoting feminism. However, Lively later alleged that she was the victim of a planned smear campaign, supposedly orchestrated in anticipation of her speaking out about alleged sexual harassment.
Additionally, Lively’s lawsuit includes accusations against Baldoni of sexual harassment, “other disturbing behavior,” and creating a “hostile work environment.”
In a countermove, Baldoni has launched his own legal action against Lively and her spouse, Ryan Reynolds, alleging defamation and extortion. The court filings reveal that the actor contends that the couple had a “takeover strategy” in place, aiming to paint Baldoni as the antagonist in real life, thereby shifting attention away from Lively’s own controversial actions.
Lively’s attorneys swiftly countered the recent allegations, issuing a statement to The Mirror: “This latest lawsuit from Justin Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios, and its associates is another chapter in the abuser playbook. This is an age-old story: A woman speaks up with concrete evidence of sexual harassment and retaliation and the abuser attempts to turn the tables on the victim. This is what experts call DARVO. Deny. Attack. Reverse Victim Offender.”
