Prince Harryhas been feeling lonely in America, five years on, as he tries to carve out a relevant role for himself, an expert has claimed.
Leading royal expert, Richard Fitzwilliams, told Fox News: “Harry is in exile – he chose it.”
He added: “It’s lonely, and he will undoubtedly miss his friends and family. There is no sign whatsoever of the rift in the Royal Family healing. King Charles and the Prince and Princess of Wales have, to put it mildly, other priorities.”
Speaking of Harry’s military links which meant a lot to him, and also referenced in his bombshell memoir, Spare, Mr Fitzwilliams believes Harry would have wanted a hybrid royal relationship with his family.
He added: “I think Meghan is undoubtedly the dominant person in their relationship. I don’t doubt he wishes they had managed to arrange a half-in, half-out arrangement [with the Royal Family], especially as his military links meant so much to him.”
Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle will both be attending the Invictus Games next week starting with the Invictus Games opening ceremony at BC Place Vancouver on February 8. Originally planned as a solo trip for the Duke, 40, this shift also reflects their renewed focus on collaboration in public engagements, according to a source.
