Princess Beatrice has given birth to her second child, the royal family confirmed today in a post shared to social media.
Princess Beatrice welcomed the arrival of her second daughter, a baby girl named Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on January 22. The royal family confirmed that baby Athena was born at 12:57 p.m. and weighed four pounds and five ounces.
The royals announced the happy news by sharing the first official photo of little Athena. The portrait, captured by Mapelli Mozzi, shows Athena, crowned with tufts of reddish-brown hair, bundled up in a white sweater and a pale pink blanket while holding a hand up to her face.
“The King and Queen, and other members of The Royal Family have all been informed and are delighted with the news,” the announcement on X read. “Princess Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care. Her Royal Highness and her daughter are healthy and doing well, and the family are enjoying spending time together with Athena’s older siblings, Wolfie and Sienna.”

Beatrice and Mapelli Mozzi previously welcomed the arrival of their first child together, a girl named Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi, in September 2021. Both Sienna and Athena share the same middle name, which pays homage to Beatrice’s late grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Beatrice is also stepmom to Mozzi’s first child, eight-year-old boy Christopher Woolf Mapelli Mozzi, whom he shares with ex Dara Huang.
