The Ithaca area has a slew of events headed your way, from craft beer tastings and chili cook-offs to the perfect Valentine’s Day date.

Still hanging on to some of those ’90s pop culture icons? Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith, better known as Jay and Silent Bob, are heading to the State Theatre on Feb 7. Check them out for some laughs and ’90s memories.
A cauldron of hot chocolate and an arctic animal parade are just the cherry on top of the winter wonderland Festival of Fire & Ice at Ithaca Children’s Garden. Head to Ithaca’s Turtle Lane in the city’s Cass Park on Feb, 8 for a night of family fun.
The Ithaca Ballet is showcasing some new choreography Feb. 8 at the Hangar Theatre for its WinterDance 2025. Tickets go for $10 for children and $20 for adults.
Trumansburg High School Music’s Jazz Cabaret returns February 12 to delight dates just before Valentine’s Day. Join them in the High School gymnasium at 7 p.m. for decadent deserts and Jazz ensembles.
If you haven’t made plans yet, Museum of the Earth is hosting Songs of Love from 6 to 9 p.m. on Feb 14, Valentine’s Day. With music by Steven Stull, John White, and the Ithaca College Jazz Vocal Ensemble, hors d’oeuvres by Serendipity, a cash bar and desserts by Sinfully Sweet, it’s sure to be a good time.
Fans of craft beer should put this next one on the calendar. The Ithaca Tap & Craft Festival is back on Feb, 15 at The Hotel Ithaca. Tickets start at $40 pre-sale or $48 at the door if available.
Want to shoot your own shots? Artists Alley in South Hill Business Complex is hosting a used photography gear sale from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb 22. Head to 950 Danby Road for a chance at cheap gear.
Looking for a little something to soothe the soul? The 27th Downtown Ithaca Chili Cook-off pits chefs across the Finger Lakes up against each other so the community can vote on who does the dish best. Sweet or spicy, vegan or carnivore, all chili is welcome in downtown Ithaca on March 1 from noon to 4 p.m.
Last but not least, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County recently announced the dates for this year’s 4-H Duck Race. Join the annual rubber duck race over Cascadilla Creek falls on April 27 for a chance at big prizes.
One duck chance is $5.00 or a flock of five ducks is $20.00. Each entry is assigned a number corresponding with the duck(s) prior to the event.
Duck numbers will be available 11 a.m., Sunday, April 27, at Cornell Cooperative Extension.
