CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. — Hubbard Hall is thrilled to announce the return of Live Locally Sourced Theater with open auditions for the Hubbard Hall Theater Company’s upcoming production of “Dancing at Lughnasa” by Brian Friel. Directed by Erin Nicole Harrington and choreographed by Darcy May, this captivating production marks a significant milestone in the revitalization of community theater at Hubbard Hall.
Auditions will take place on Sunday, January 28, and Monday, January 29, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hubbard Hall, located at 25 E Main Street, Cambridge, N.Y.
About the Play
Set in a small Irish village in 1936, Dancing at Lughnasa tells the poignant story of five unmarried sisters navigating their lives during the festival of Lughnasa, a celebration of the harvest marked by music and dancing. Narrated through the memory of a young boy, Michael, the play unfolds with humor, heartbreak, and the indomitable spirit of its characters. Widely regarded as Brian Friel’s masterpiece, it is a powerful tribute to family, resilience, and the past.
