TV personality Wendy Williams has reportedly fired her court-appointed attorney, Linda Redlisky, amid her fight against her guardianship.
Just days ago, Williams’ family addressed concerns about her guardianship, which she’s been under since 2022 following her diagnoses of aphasia and frontotemporal dementia, and legal representation after she criticized another attorney.
She spoke out against guardianship attorney, Roberta Kaplan, who suggested Williams, who has claimed she knows things about Diddy, would need lifelong care.
Now, sources told TMZ Wednesday that Williams terminated Redlisky after she failed to file paperwork to get things started on a trial by jury.
The former talk show host, 60, reportedly told Redlisky she wanted the trial to decide whether or not she needed the guardianship, but Redlisky reportedly declined her request.
Daily Express US has reached out to Williams’ manager and publicist for comment.
The firing comes weeks after Williams claimed she had never met her guardianship attorney, Roberta Kaplan, who previously alleged she needed life-long care due to her frontotemporal dementia and aphasia diagnosis.
“How would she know that?” Williams told TMZ. “I’ve never met Roberta Kaplan, and I’ve never talked with her. I’m isolated and locked away in a luxury prison. So much for the Me Too movement.”
Williams’ family said they were looking for an “esteemed and honest” attorney to help Williams.
In a statement shared to Daily Mail, Williams’ family said in a statement: “The family of Wendy Williams wishes to address the current circumstances surrounding her guardianship and her ongoing journey toward reclaiming her self-determination.”
They added: “We are working with the Ben Crump Law Firm to review the arrangement in place for Wendy in New York City.”
The family said their goal is to ensure Williams’ rights are protected.

“Wendy deserves the opportunity to live with dignity and make her own choices, free from undue influence,” they said.

The family also expressed gratitude to her fans for their support, asking for privacy as they navigate the process.
Williams has been fighting to get out of the conservatorship which she claims has left her with next to nothing as she is currently living in an assisted-living facility in New York City, which she likened to a luxury “prison.”
Earlier this month, Williams called in to The Breakfast Club to share her side of the story after her niece revealed she was “trapped” in a care center.
Williams claimed her conservatorship “emotional abuse,” claiming they took her pets away and limited her internet access.
“I am not cognitively impaired, but I feel like I am in prison,” she said. “I am definitely isolated. To talk to these people who live here, that is not my cup of tea.
“I keep the door closed,” she said of her day-to-day activities. “I watch TV. I listen to the radio. I watch the window. I sit here, and my life goes by.”
Williams also claimed she only has $15 to her name amid her legal issues.
A New York judge placed Williams under a guardianship in 2022 amid her financial and health issues.
At the time, her bank, Wells Fargo, suggested she was an “incapacitated person” and was subject to “undue influence and financial exploitation.”
Williams voluntarily entered the agreement to protect her assets, but one of her former lawyers suggested at the time that she might not have fully understood everything involved in the situation.
