The British royal family just keeps growing — and with each new arrival, Queen Elizabeth II’s legacy continues.
The late monarch welcomed eight grandchildren before her death at age 96 in September 2022. While many royal fans know that generation, which includes Prince William and Prince Harry, it’s the queen’s great-grandchildren that still have Us oohing and awing today.
Elizabeth’s first great-grandchild, Savannah Anne Kathleen, was born in December 2010 to her daughter Anne, Princess Royal’s son, Peter Phillips, and his now-ex wife, Autumn. The eldest of the royal family’s youngest generation became a big sister in March 2012 when Isla Elizabeth joined the family.
Then came Prince George in July 2013! The firstborn son of William and his wife, Princess Kate, had the entire world wrapped around his finger from the moment he arrived. At the time, the queen’s first great-grandson, George, became third in line for the throne. He moved up to second in line when his grandfather King Charles III ascended the throne in fall 2022.
