During Tuesday night’s episode of Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens Live,” the actor and filmmaker seemed flustered when a fan asked if he’d be up for the role.
“Oh, how do I answer this?” Franco asked as Alison Brie, his wife and co-star in the new horror film “Together,” tactfully masked her reaction by taking a long sip from her drink.
“Um… no one has approached me about it yet, I’ll say that,” he answered.
Squirming as he continued, Franco said, “This is something that more people in my life reached out about, this exact thing, than anything else that has ever happened.”
“So, let’s just say I’m open if it’s the right people, and let’s leave it at that.”
Back in January, Franco told The Hollywood Reporter that he was inundated with messages about his resemblance to Mangione once the alleged murderer was identified and photos of him started circulating.
“I have never received more texts in my life about anything,” the Emmy nominee laughed, adding, “Anyone who has my phone number has reached out about it.”
