Lizzo is once again at the center of attention after responding to a Fox News segment’s backlash with a fiery video that has quickly gone viral.
The Grammy-winning rapper and singer dropped a freestyle following a Fox News segment in which hosts criticized her for promoting a “woke agenda” and compared her unfavorably to other public figures.
“We are over the Lizzos,” one commentator said, prompting the artist to respond with a sharp bar, “Yeah, f–k out of my face / H-e, give me some space,” Lizzo rapped in a video clip that quickly spread across X, formerly Twitter, and TikTok.
The freestyle included lines referencing Waffle House and Grammy wins, “The way he hit from the back, I might give him one of my Grammys,” she rapped. “Did this for the culture… I ate that, now let’s do it over.”
Fans and critics alike took to social media to respond to the video.
The Grammy-winning singer responded to the viral ad by posting a meme of herself mimicking Sweeney’s pose from the commercial.
Lizzo’s post, which appeared on her Instagram, featured what looked like an AI-generated image of her in the American Eagle campaign, alongside the caption, “if the Democrats won the election.”
In the caption of the post, Lizzo added, “My genes are black…” a playful twist on Sweeney’s line that sparked debate online.
In the ad, Sweeney is seen wearing American Eagle denim and says, “Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color… My ‘jeans’ are blue.”
One fan commented on the original post, “Queen of not taking herself too seriously.”
“This is how you win the internet,” another wrote.
