The Prize have formally announced their debut studio album, entitled In The Red. The 11-track effort is set for release on Friday, September 19th via Anti Fade Records locally and Goner Records in North America. To coincide with the announcement, the band have shared its lead single ‘From The Night’; that, as well as pre-order information for the album itself, can be found below.
The Melbourne garage-rock quintet recorded In The Red at Gizz Studios, the Melbourne space owned and run by the band’s longtime tourmates King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Production was overseen by Matt Blach, who is a bandmate of King Gizz’s Ambrose Kenny-Smith in The Murlocs. A music video for ‘From The Night’ has also been shared, which was shot and directed by Ben Portnoy – best known as the lead vocalist and drummer of Sydney punk band C.O.F.F.I.N. Watch it below.

The Prize are slated to launch ‘From The Night’ with a headlining show later this month on Saturday, August 23rd, taking place at Bell City Takeaway – a DIY punk venue that genuinely used to be a fish-and-chips takeaway, located in Preston in Melbourne’s north-east. They will be joined by self-described “loud and snotty punksters” Handgrenade Hearts for the show, which will kick off at 9pm.
