British comedian Jimmy Carr has drawn comparisons between Prince Harry and Kanye West – pointing out both have “dressed up” as Nazis as he said they “f—– up.”
Jimmy took aim at the Duke of Sussex in a clip from his stand-up show that has since gone viral. The TV host, 52, was referencing Harry, 40, wearing a Nazi outfit to a costume party in 2005.
Kanye, 48, has posted pro-Nazi content online and shared his support for Adolf Hitler – though he recently claimed he “renounced” anti-Semitism.
Jimmy’s joke was posted on his official Instagram page – which has 2.5million followers – with the caption, “Prince William Vs Prince Harry.”
He delivered the line after an audience member questioned which royal sibling he favored.
He penned, “I phoned Willy and Kate, asked what they thought. Nazi uniform, they said. They both howled. Worse than Willy’s leotard outfit! Way more ridiculous! Which, again, was the point.”
The release of photos showing him in the controversial attire caused a global scandal, prompting an apology from the then 20-year-old Harry. He expressed his regret, stating, “I am very sorry if I have caused any offence or embarrassment to anyone. It was a poor choice of costume and I apologize.”
On Netflix, Harry reflected on the incident, acknowledging that dressing as a Nazi was one of the “biggest mistakes” of his life and shared his determination to make amends. He engaged with the Jewish community, including meeting with the late Chief Rabbi Jonathan Sacks and speaking with a Holocaust survivor.
Kanye, formerly married to reality TV star Kim Kardashian, incited backlash with the release of a song titled Heil Hitler (Hooligan Version). In 2022, his post on X threatening “death con 3 on Jewish people” resulted in severed ties with several major partners, including agency CAA, production company MRC, Adidas, Gap and Balenciaga.
The Yeezy founder, known for donning provocative apparel such as swastika and White Lives Matter shirts, has openly expressed negative sentiments towards Jewish people and admiration for Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.
However, the acclaimed hip-hop artist, with 24 Grammy awards to his name, recently reached out to his 69.4 million followers on X, declaring, “I am done with antisemitism. God forgive me for the pain I’ve caused. I forgive those who have caused me pain. Thank you God.”
He revealed that he had renounced his Nazi persona following a “FaceTime from my kids.” He added, “I wanna save the world again.”
