No, Jennifer Aniston was never dating Barack Obama, and she has no idea where those rumors even came from.
The Friends alum laughed about the wild allegations that circled the web for some time last year in a candid cover interview for Vanity Fair. “I don’t think anyone really pays attention to reports like that if you’re the subject of them,” she said.
Aniston added that she knows Michelle Obama better than she does the former United States president, and even saw her recently. “I was lucky enough to have dinner with Michelle a month ago,” the actor said, noting that the drama—a.k.a. the allegations that Aniston was having an affair with Barack—“wasn’t even brought up.”
Aniston’s fellow actor friend Sandra Bullock, who was also interviewed for the Morning Show star’s cover, also weighed in on the allegations. “We try to figure out the genesis of where some of these stories come from… but 75 percent of the time, we just cannot,” she said. “They’re literally pulled out of the ether.”
No one really knows where the rumors of Aniston and Barack first began, but they made the rounds around the time when Michelle skipped several public events—including Donald Trump’s second presidential inauguration and Jimmy Carter’s funeral—leaving her husband to attend them alone.
