As production continues on Spider-Man: Brand New Day, another Spider-Man 4 rumor has surfaced online regarding the significance of Stranger Things star Sadie Sink‘s role in the upcoming superhero movie. This comes after Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios recently released a brand new behind-the-scenes video from the movie’s Glasgow production, featuring Tom Holland‘s first day on the set.
What is the new Spider-Man 4 rumor?
On X, insider MyTimeToShineHello hinted at Sink’s key role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, revealing that he’s actually “conflicted” about revealing her character because it “might be considered as a huge spoiler.” This might mean that Sink’s role may potentially be a central part of the storyline. The young actress has been attached to the project since March of this year. Further details about her character remained under wraps, but some fans theorized that she might be playing Gwen Stacy.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The movie is led by MCU vet Tom Holland as he reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Emmy winner Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are also expected to return for the sequel. They will be joined by recently announced cast members Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) and Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear), with Jon Bernthal (Daredevil: Born Again) as Frank Castle/Punisher. In addition, Avengers vet Mark Ruffalo is also being rumored to reprise his iconic role as Bruce Banner/Hulk in the fourth installment. The movie is produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Avi Arad, and Louis D’Esposito.
The movie is set to arrive in theaters on July 31, 2026. At the moment, it has no direct competition at the box office on the day of its theatrical release. However, it will still debut in the same month as other high-profile movies like the live-action Moana and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey adaptation.
