Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s extended partnership with Netflix will “worry” the Royal Family, an expert has claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed on Monday that they are extending their collaboration with the streaming platform through a fresh “multi-year” first-look agreement, which allegedly means the pair will pitch concepts to Netflix ahead of any rival streaming service.
The announcement arrives just weeks after speculation suggested Harry, 40, and Meghan, 44, might not have their five-year Netflix contract, inked in 2020, extended.
While numerous supporters of the couple are thrilled for them, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams says this won’t likely be the sentiment within the Royal Family.
This stems from the royals allegedly having no “don’t trust” in the pair.
“Let’s just hope, as things seem so uncertain for them, that they aren’t planning another such series!”
Discussing how the Royal Family will react to Harry and Meghan’s Netflix agreement, Mr Fitzwilliams stated: “This will concern the Royal Family as they don’t trust the Sussexes and they did it (a damaging series) before. It is sadly all too clear that, however deplorable it is, it would be very lucrative.”
Currently, Harry and Meghan are understood to have no intentions to produce a documentary series similar to Harry and Meghan, which harshly criticized the monarchy.
It is understood that Meghan will pursue her collaboration with the streaming platform on her “With Love, Meghan” show, which will feature a Christmas special episode.
It has also been revealed that the pair is developing another venture with Netflix: ‘Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within’, which will also be broadcast this year.
According to People, Harry and Meghan’s adaptation of the bestselling novel Meet Me at the Lake remains a possible venture.
The Royal Family has not officially recognized the couple’s renewed Netflix agreement.
