From affairs and rampant sex to excessive behaviour and drowning in debt, sordid details in a new book about the lives of Prince Andrew and Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson have once again plunged the royal family into crisis. Following four years of research that saw royal biographer Andrew Lownie approach 3,000 people and secure hundreds of interviews. The shocking new tell-all reveals the Duke and Duchess of York’s wild life, appalling conduct and unbridled spending.
Despite getting divorced in 1992, it shows “the extent to which Andrew and Fergie’s lives are still deeply entwined” as they continue to live together on the grounds of Windsor Castle in a property owned by the royals. The book, Entitled: The Rise And The Fall Of The House Of York, makes startling claims about all aspects of Andrew’s life. Including his relationships with women, his numerous affairs while married to Fergie, his friendship with deceased convicted US sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, his entitlement and the ongoing fall-outs with his family.
Obsession with women
According to investigative journalist Ian Halperin, 65-year-old Andrew has slept with over a thousand women and was branded by Epstein as a “serial sex addict”.
“Sex is his big thing in life,” a friend of Andrew’s told Lownie.
“Travelling all over the world as a UK trade ambassador and for other royal duties has given him access to some beautiful women and he’s taken full advantage.”
Meanwhile, new details of Andrew’s relationship with Epstein are revealed. While the Prince claims to have met the disgraced felon in 1999, Lownie’s sources say, “the truth is he and his ex-wife Sarah had known the financier for almost a decade by then.”
Lownie writes, “Epstein played Andrew. The prince was a useful idiot who gave him respectability, access to political leaders and business opportunities.”
Nightmare conduct
Despite his ability to ensnare women, many sources in the book claim that Andrew can be “unbelievably cruel”. Lownie writes he once called a staff member an “imbecile” because he did not refer to the Queen Mother by her full title. According to an excerpt from the book published in the Daily Mail, the Prince wanted to know about the fall-out from a heavy storm at Hillsborough Castle in 2005.
“Andrew asked the head of the household, David Anderson, if there was any damage. ‘Yes sir,’ responded Anderson.
‘The tree which was planted by the Queen Mother.’ This was followed by a withering silence, then Andrew said in a mocking voice, ‘Did you mean Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother?
“He then asked the poor man how long he had worked for the royal family. Anderson replied, ‘I joined in 1984, sir.’ ‘And you still don’t know the proper way to refer to my grandmother? You f***ing imbecile. Get out.’”
Multiple sources also reveal such entitled behaviour was evident at dinner parties. An anecdote from the book recounts one evening where Andrew is described as having sniffed the pâté served as the first course before turning to his right and allegedly saying: “This pâté smells. What do you think?” His female companion leaned forward to smell it and he promptly pushed her face into the dish, the author writes.
Fergie’s fallout
The new biography also shines a light on Fergie’s excess, extravagance and extramarital affairs during the pair’s 10-year marriage. It reveals how the Duchess, now 65, pursued celebrities John F. Kennedy Jr and Kevin Costner and professed her love for Tiger Woods. She also slept with American Steve Wyatt and John Bryan.
The author reveals how Fergie would make wild requests of her staff, such as demanding three different meats be prepared for dinner every night and for her butler to get in at 4.30am to
put watercress on ice.
“Personal trainers, hairdressers and Pilates instructors were paid hundreds of pounds an hour to wait for her to emerge in the late afternoon,” writes Lownie.
Out-of-control spending
Meanwhile, her lavish life also landed her in so much debt that the Queen had to bail her out on “several occasions”.
In the book, Lownie claims by 1995 she had debts of more than with $11m from her holidays and nonstop partying. He writes that she spent $56,000 on clothes in just one hour in high-end department store Bloomingdale’s.
Banished from The Firm
With so many salacious scandals detailed in the book, it’s no surprise that the royal family feel they’re under siege and have no choice but to place distance between themselves and Andrew and Fergie.
Palace insiders say Prince William and the King are moving quickly to remove the former couple from the fold. The book claims William, 43, is working behind the scenes to try and evict his uncle Andrew, who had his $2.2m annual allowance cut by King Charles, 76, last year, from the Royal Lodge at Windsor.
The author says, “He thinks Andrew is abusing the property and his privilege there.”
Already removed from royal duties, Palace sources say discussions are ramping up about how the family may strip Andrew’s title and banish the two forever.
