Carly Pearce ‘grateful that it was not worse’ after being rushed to ER

Carly Pearce revealed to her fans that she had to take an ambulance ride to the hospital following her recent show in Butler, Ohio.

The incident took place on Aug. 7 after Pearce performed at The VOA Country Music Festival. The 35-year-old country music star revealed that she cut her thumb while trying to open a bottle of ranch dressing.

She shared details of what happened, and how she ended up in the hospital, on TikTok on Saturday.

“All of a sudden, I thought that ketchup was running down my hand, and it actually was blood,” Pearce said. “So we decided to have them just have a look at it to see if it had any glass in it or if it needed to be cleaned. And they told me that I needed a few stitches.”

Pearce said on the video that the paramedics thought her cut was “pretty deep.”

“What I didn’t know was that the ride to the ER was going to be in an ambulance, and it’s policy that the patient has to sit on the stretcher and be strapped in,” Pearce said. ”So they come in, take an X-ray to make sure there’s no glass in there, and say that I do need to have a couple stitches.”

The singer said she was glad it wasn’t worse but also highlighted that the situation is not fun.

“The stitches are right in the crease of my thumb,” she said. “So I’m kinda figuring out how to do things, not the way that I would. My assistant almost had to shave my left armpit because I didn’t think I could reach it.”

Pearce said she holds her microphone with her right hand, which is the one that is cut.

“But it’s interesting trying to do those normal things like pull your pants up after you pee,” she said. “So the moral to the story is be careful opening things and don’t go like my mother says, like I do, like a bull in a china cabinet.”
