Chris Noth has returned to acting after a four-year informal hiatus following several sexual assault allegations.
The Block, an upcoming horror film about writer’s block, marks Noth’s first big-screen role since 2020’s A New York Christmas Wedding and his first role of any kind since he last reprised his signature part of Mr. Big on the Sex and the City sequel series And Just Like That.

The official logline for The Block reads, “A former successful horror fiction writer overcomes writer’s block after experiencing a mysterious event. However, his renewed creativity comes at a dark price, as he becomes entangled in a sinister cycle of creation and consequence.”
Joining Noth in the cast are Jack Falahee, best known for his role in the Shonda Rhimes thriller How to Get Away With Murder; Watchmen star Jackie Earle Haley; Chicago P.D.’s Elias Koteas; as well as Catherine Corcoran, Thomas G. Waits, Katie Kay, and Saphira Moran.
The Block was directed by Craig Singer, who previously helmed 2003’s crime caper A Good Night to Die, starring Michael Rapaport and Seymour Cassel, and the 2006 slasher Dark Ride, featuring Jamie Lynn-Sigler.
Noth was first accused of sexual assault by two women in early December 2021. Remaining anonymous to protect their privacy, Noth’s accusers alleged the incidents occurred in Los Angeles in 2004 and New York in 2015, but cited Noth’s return to And Just Like That as triggering the memories.
The actor denied the allegations as “categorically false,” but more followed. A third woman accused Noth of assaulting her at her job while working as a hostess in New York City in 2010, when she was only 18. Days later, the musician Lisa Gentile detailed a harrowing encounter in which Noth allegedly sexually and verbally assaulted her in 2002.

Noth continued to deny the allegations, but was fired from The Equalizer and dropped from numerous brand partnerships. His former Sex and the City costars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis issued a joint statement addressing the allegations, noting that they “support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it.”
In 2023, Noth claimed that his only offense was cheating on his wife, Tara Wilson, and vowed to fight the clutch of allegations leveled against him.
“I’m not going to lay down and just say it’s over… It’s a salacious story, but it’s just not a true one. And I can’t just say ‘Well, OK, that’s it for me’ because of that. I’m an actor. I have other things that I want to do creatively. And I have children to support. I can’t just rest on my laurels,” Noth told USA Today.
