Canal Winchester Music in the Park happens from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 15. The End of Summer Bash is hosted by the City of Canal Winchester. The music will be performed by Treble Catz. The concert is free, along with additional activities including balloon animals, inflatable bounce house, face painting by the CW Queens & Court and more. Residents of Canal Winchester will have an opportunity to speak to the city council members soon. The next Council Connect takes place from 9 to 10 a.m. Aug. 16, at Council Chambers, 45 East Waterloo Street. Council Connect is an opportunity to discuss the Canal Winchester community in an informal setting.
Winchester Farm Exchange will celebrate its one-year anniversary from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 23 and Aug. 24 each day. There will be food samples, giveaways, and more. The store is located at 8 S. High Street. For more information, go to Winchesterfarmexchange.com.
Summer Sundays at Stradley happen from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 24. The band, Oxbow String Company will perform at Stradley Park. This is a great opportunity to relax with your family and friends, bring a picnic and grab a drink from any of the participating DORA locations. Local restaurants will be open during the event.
Canal Winchester Chamber announced the return of the Home Sweet Home Show on Sept. 20 at Stradley Park, in partnership with the Canal Winchester Farmers Market. Hours are 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Shoppers can browse an array of home and garden vendors offering everything from local services and landscaping advice to family-friendly activities and giveaways. This event is free and open to the public. No registration is required to attend.
Canal Winchester Chamber is now accepting sponsors and vendors for this event. Chamber members can vendor for free, while non-members can vendor for $50. Sponsorships are available exclusively to Chamber members.For more information, go to canalwinchester.com.
Road closures
Greenfield Township Road Department will have Brook Road, immediately south of Carroll Eastern Road, closed for culvert replacement over the next several days. This closure will last 3-5 days.
Campground Road will be closed through Friday, Aug. 29, for bridge deck repairs, weather permitting. This closure will take place on Campground Road, between Wallace Court and Lithopolis Road. Construction will take place between the addresses of 1378 and 1400 Campground Road.
LUMC
Lithopolis United Methodist Church, 80 N. Market Street, will hold a community dinner at 6 p.m. Aug. 20. The church invites community members to come for food and fellowship in the Multi-Ministry Center. Church members will be serving grilled steak, baked potato with toppings, green beans, tossed salad, fruit and cake.
CW Tickets
Tickets for Canal Winchester Athletics events can be purchased online through HomeTown Ticketing at www.hometownticketing.com or at the gate for cash.
Admission for varsity sporting events is $10. Admission for JV/Freshman Games is $7 as well as admission to Middle School games. Anyone who needs ADA accommodations for all sporting events should contact the Athletic Department or email [email protected].
IHBVM Church
Any local resident who is interested in becoming Catholic is invited to Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 5170 Winchester Southern Road in Bloom Township.
There will be an educational and spiritual program developed to engage and instruct non-Catholics who may want to join the Catholic Church and Catholics who are interested in learning more about or returning to the Catholic faith. Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (O.C.I.A.) acts as the compass for individuals who would like to come into full communion with the Catholic Church.
