How Ciara Helped Normani and DK Metcalf Find Love

In the game of love, Ciara and Russell Wilson are always happy to lend an assist.

Before NFL player DK Metcalf and Normani got engaged, the pair were set up by the “I Bet” singer and her husband.

“First off, I have to shout both of them out. We love them so dearly,” Ciara, 39, shared on the Thursday, August 14, episode of the “Not Gonna Lie” podcast. “Obviously, Russ and DK are like brothers, and DK is like my brother too. Our kids love them. He’s Uncle DK in our house, and Normani is obviously like a sister to me. I think that when you see an opportunity for someone to experience love, especially in the way that you know it to be, why not?”

Ciara and Wilson, 36, have been married since July 2016 and share three children: Sienna, 8, Win, 5, and Amora, 20 months. Ciara also welcomed son Future Jr. with ex Future in 2014.

Although she doesn’t want to kiss and tell about Metcalf, 27, and Normani’s first interactions, their initial connection appeared to be a total touchdown.

“It was love at a game of cards for those two, but I’ll let them tell their story,” she told host Kylie Kelce. “But let’s just say Russ and I were definitely like, ‘We need to make sure that these two get together and we’ll let them take it away.’”

“It’s a beautiful thing when it happens like that,” Ciara added. “We love seeing people experience love. It’s really a fun thing for us.”

In March, Metcalf confirmed he was engaged to Normani, 29, during his first press conference for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“I proposed to my fiancée and Russell was the one who connected us,” the wide receiver told reporters when asked if Wilson had given him advice about relocating to Pittsburgh. “So he was just telling me congratulations, giving us congratulations on that.”

In a TikTok post, Ciara shared a memory from the moment Metcalf and Normani told her that they were engaged.

“@Russell Wilson and I knew when we introed yall 3yrs ago love was truly in the air!” she wrote on March 13. “Now yall gon be booed up for forever!! This was the best news! @DK Metcalf @Normani we love yall so much!”

Normani later commented, “WE LOVE YOU BOTH SOOOOO MUCH.”

Although the singer has always dreamed about her wedding day, she’s keeping her plans top secret. For now, she’s simply enjoying this chapter of her life.

“For me, the most important part is that God has just been there,” Normani told Vogue in March. “But He’s been faithful to both of us, and I have found my dream man. There’s nobody that I would want to spend the rest of my life with and do life with.”
