It’s been 22 years since the American comedy-drama film Uptown Girls first hit theaters, and fans are feeling nostalgic.
Starring the late Brittany Murphy, Dakota Fanning, Heather Locklear, Marley Shelton, Donald Faison and Jesse Spencer, Uptown Girls follows Molly Gunn (Murphy), who lands a job as a nanny after she realizes her late dad’s manager stole all her money. Ray (Fanning), the little girl Molly is babysitting, has a serious and uptight attitude that is the very opposite of Molly’s carefree one. With help from her love interest, Neal (Spencer), Molly tries to bond with Ray and learn how to be an adult.
The anniversary of the film sparked a wave of heartfelt posts, opinions and comments from fans, expressing how much this film means to them.

Another pointed out, “the fact that so soon dakota will officially be older than brittany ever was.” Murphy passed away in December 2009 due to pneumonia, made worse by anemia and addiction to several prescription medications. She was only 32 years old. Meanwhile, Fanning is still acting and is currently 31 years old.
