Gal Gadot, who appeared as the Evil Queen in Disney’s live-action Snow White, has addressed the movie’s lackluster box office performance. During an appearance on the Israeli TV show The A Talks (via The Hollywood Reporter), Gadot blamed the pressure Hollywood puts on celebrities to express anti-Israeli sentiments for the movie’s failure. She said:
I can always explain and try to give people in the world context about the situation and the reality in Israel, and I always do that. But at the end, people make up their own minds. And I was disappointed that the movie was incredibly affected by all of that and that it didn’t do well at the box office.
Gadot, an Israeli native, served in the Israeli Defense Forces for two years. While Snow White actress Rachel Zegler has been vocal about her support for Palestine, Gadot has been supportive of Israel.
