Netflix has officially enlisted a new cast member for its upcoming Extraction TV show, which serves as the latest entry to the popular Chris Hemsworth-led action franchise. At the moment, the project has no official release date yet.
“In this action-packed thriller, a mercenary embarks on a dangerous mission to rescue hostages in Libya. Trapped between warring factions and ruthless killers, he must navigate life-or-death choices while confronting deep emotional wounds,” reads the official logline. “The series explores the trauma, betrayal, and moral conflicts of characters pushed to the edge.”
Who is joining the Extraction TV show?
Game of Thrones alum Natalie Dormer has signed on to star opposite Omar Sy and Boyd Holbrook in the series adaptation of Extraction, which will consist of eight episodes. It hails from The Walking Dead’s Glen Mazzara, who is set as the showrunner, writer, and executive producer.
The project is executive produced by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes, and Chris Castaldi for AGBO, Sam Hargrave, Eric Gitter, and Peter Schwerin. Besides the TV adaptation, streamer is also currently developing the third installment to the Extraction film franchise, with Hemsworth set to reprise his role as Tyler Rake.
“Audiences are in for a thrill as we delve deeper into the Extraction universe,” Netflix executive Peter Friedlander said in a statement when the project was officially greenlit. “With Omar Sy leading the charge, our collaboration with the Russos, alongside Glen Mazzara, fans can expect even more of the high-octane adventures they love from the ‘Extraction’ franchise.”
