This Is Us star Mandy Moore has a new project on the way, and fans are already quite excited about it. She is the latest star attached to a new Hulu project, and it reunites her with This Is Us show creator Dan Fogelman.
According to Deadline, Fogelman is working on a new show for Hulu that does not yet have a title. The media outlet noted that Moore’s character is named Lauren, and her father is an owner of an NFL team.
William H. Macy from Shameless has been cast as Moore’s father, Hank Durkin. Law & Order: SVU star Christopher Meloni has been tapped to play Danny Roarke, the NFL team’s head coach.
Fogelman shared the news of Moore’s addition to the cast via his Instagram page and fans went wild over it.
One comment read, “Mandy + NFL + Dan Fogelman?!! This might be my dream come true! So exciting!”

On Deadline’s Instagram post with the announcement, a fan shared, “Fantastic!! Another reason to watch!!”
Moore shared a screenshot of the announcement in an Instagram Story and wrote, “Elated is an understatement. Reunited with Dan, Jess, and my 20th family? Very grateful and can’t wait to get to work!”
As Deadline noted, 20th Television is collaborating with Skydance Sports on the series. Jess Rosenthall is an executive producer, and he also worked with Moore and Fogelman on This Is Us.
Moore starred as family matriarch Rebecca Pearson throughout the six season run of This Is Us. After the series ended in 2022, Fogelman signed a big deal with Hulu. Another project of his, Paradise, stars Moore’s This Is Us co-star Sterling K. Brown.
Fogelman and Moore also worked together on the animated Disney film Tangled. She voiced the character of Rapunzel, and Fogelman wrote the movie’s screenplay.
