Sydney Sweeney has taken to the skies as she marked a new chapter in her career.
The Euphoria star recently ticked off a major bucket-list moment, skydiving from 10,000 feet with Red Bull Air Force pro Luke Aikins. Captured in a thrilling video on Instagram, Sydney, 27, called it “probably the coolest thing I’ve ever had the opportunity of doing.”
The exhilarating jump saw the actress securely strapped to Aikins, a veteran skydiver famed for making history in 2016 by leaping from a plane with no parachute – landing safely in a net.
The Emmy-nominated actress is currently juggling a slate of ambitious projects, although one has proven to be a major flop.
Her indie western Americana, in which she plays a small-town waitress chasing country stardom, earned a modest $500,000 at the US box office on opening weekend.
Alongside Sweeney, the ensemble cast features Halsey, Eric Dane, and Simon Rex. Americana – originally titled National Anthem – premiered at SXSW over two years ago, yet has struggled to gain commercial traction.
In addition to the movie, Sydney has already wrapped filming on Eden, Ron Howard’s upcoming survival thriller based on true events in the Galápagos Islands.
She portrayed German settler Margret Wittmer and stars opposite Jude Law and Ana de Armas. The film, once titled Origin of Species, opens in US cinemas this Friday despite early mixed reviews from critics.
She will also attend next month’s Toronto International Film Festival for the world premiere of Christy, a biopic about trailblazing boxer Christy Martin. For the role, the actress trained extensively in mixed martial arts and reportedly gained 30 pounds of muscle.
Behind the scenes, the White Lotus star is also building a name as a producer. She’s executive producing and leading The Housemaid, a psychological thriller adapted from the bestselling novel by Freida McFadden, due out this Christmas.

And of course, fans are eagerly awaiting her return to Euphoria as Cassie Howard in the show’s much-anticipated third season, which is set to introduce new cast members, including Sharon Stone and Rosalía.
She has roles lined up across film, television, and streaming – including projects with Colman Domingo, Jon M. Chu, and even Michael Bay – despite receiving backlash in recent weeks.
It comes after the actress was criticized for starring in a new ad for American Apparel. Sweeney appeared wearing a complete denim ensemble, lying down and saying, “Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color,” and concluding, “My jeans are blue.”
The ad’s slogan was, “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans,” but many online deemed it “tone-deaf” and likened it to “Nazi propaganda.” However, it appears she has since seemed to be putting the controversy behind her.
