BENNINGTON — The Bennington Theater will present “The Marvelous Wonderettes: Dream On” — a fun, feel-good jukebox musical packed with classic hits from the ‘60s and ‘70s.
The show is directed by John Lugar, produced by David Dubov-Flinn, and written and created by Roger Bean.
“Dream On” is set in 1969, and the Wonderettes are back at Springfield High (Go Chipmunks!) to celebrate their beloved homeroom teacher’s retirement. But as they sing their way through the era’s biggest girl-group hits, one of the girls announces she’ll soon be saying goodbye to follow her own dreams. Act II picks up years later, as the Wonderettes reunite at their 20-year class reunion, with the pop and rock sounds of the ‘70s setting the stage for old memories, new confessions, and their signature four-part harmonies.
With lively choreography, heartwarming friendship, and a soundtrack of timeless classics, “The Marvelous Wonderettes: Dream On” is the perfect summer musical to lift your spirits and get your toes tapping.
