Sigrid has announced a new album, ‘There’s Always More That I Could Say’, with the cathartic single ‘Fort Knox’.

The Norwegian pop singer – full name Sigrid Solbakk Raabe – released the “free-spirited and joyous” new single ‘Jellyfish’ in July, marking her first new music since her 2023 EP ‘The Hype’, and her last full-length studio album was 2022’s ‘How To Let Go’.

Now, she’s revealed that the track, as well as new single ‘Fort Knox’, is taken from her upcoming third studio album ‘There’s Always More That I Could Say’, due for release on October 24 via Island / EMI. You can pre-order it here.

Built upon a euphoric synth bass, the track sees Sigrid exorcise the rage of heartbreak and enlist the famous U.S. military vault as a sharp metaphor for her emotional armour, as she sings: “This time, I’m gonna lock my love in a box / And safeguard it like it’s Fort Knox.”

Check it out below.

The upcoming album was recorded in a studio by the harbour in Bergen, Norway. Per a press release, the album saw the musician step away from the pressure of “content culture” to “rediscover the joy of making music simply for the love of it”.

1. ‘I’ll Always Be Your Girl’
2. ‘Jellyfish’
3. ‘Do It Again’
4. ‘Kiss The Sky’
5. ‘Two Years’
6. ‘Hush Baby, Hurry Slowly’
7. ‘Fort Knox’
8. ‘There’s Always More That I Could Say’
9. ‘Have You Heard This Song Before’
10. ‘Eternal Sunshine’

In a four-star review of ‘How To Let Go’ in 2022, NME wrote: “This accomplished follow-up also features a generous selection of soaring choruses. ‘Burning Bridges’ and ‘Thank Me Later’ are so epically catchy, they make dumping someone sound kind of uplifting. But, crucially, ‘How To Let Go’ also sees Sigrid expand her shimmering synth-pop sound in ways that feel measured without being tentative.”

“Even when her lyrics flirt with cliché – “it gets dark so I can see the stars” – Sigrid sings them with such infectious sincerity that she gets away with it. If ‘How To Let Go’ is an album about embracing life in all its chaotic and contradictory glory, it’s surely a testament to its success that the record feels so life-affirming. Like the best pop music, it feels like someone’s reached out to say they know exactly how you feel.”

Elsewhere, earlier this summer, Sigrid joined Ed Sheeran onstage to perform ‘Don’t Kill My Vibe’ during a show in her hometown of Oslo.
