1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton is proudly displaying her brand-new smile – the latest achievement in her incredible transformation after shedding nearly 500lbs.
The 39-year-old made an appearance on Tuesday’s episode of the Creative Chaos podcast, where she disclosed that she’d recently received dental treatment to fix longstanding problems with her teeth, which online bullies had constantly ridiculed her about.
“Show me them chompers, girl,” teased host Hunter Ezell as Tammy faced the camera and grinned widely, showcasing her fresh teeth. Slaton clarified that the procedure involved getting a dental bridge, which is a treatment that requires positioning artificial teeth secured between two existing ones.
“They’re temporary still,” she revealed, admitting that the journey hasn’t been completely seamless. “They had to cement [the artificial teeth] in because the glue wasn’t holding. Well, my body was rejecting it.”
She also disclosed that several of her teeth needed to be extracted to fit the bridge, but acknowledged that this was merely the start of her dental transformation. “I’m still getting more done with it,” she said. Adding, “It’s a process.”
Despite the setbacks, Tammy seemed upbeat and Ezell was eager to compliment her new look. “You’ve got new teeth,” he said, noting that it got “the people off your back.”
“Some of them,” Tammy responded.”They’re always gonna be there.”
The podcast host then urged, “If you ain’t got people who constantly got something to say about you, you ain’t doing good in life.”
Slaton answered, “Haters make me famous.”
The TV star has never hesitated to confront those who criticize her looks. In January 2024, she directly addressed a TikTok comment instructing her to “fix them teeth.”
In a now-viral video, she declared, “With all due respect, I wish people like you would stop commenting crap like this. It is not helping my confidence.”
She went on, “Getting my teeth fixed costs money that I don’t have right now. I was trying to keep my confidence boosted and seeing comments about my chin or my teeth doesn’t help.”
Tammy confessed she had to compose herself before responding, stating, “I really wanted to tell you if you had a true problem with my teeth, then pay for them yourself. But I don’t want to be that person. I don’t want to be rude.”
She added, “It doesn’t matter if I’m missing teeth. It’s sad. Why hate? Why can’t you just appreciate the hard work I’ve put in? Why can’t you just appreciate that I’m still alive? Yes, I have flaws. I’m human.”
She concluded with a bold statement, “I’m not gonna let you or anyone else ruin my day.”
Tammy’s dental revelation follows an incredible physical makeover. After hitting over 700lbs, she shed around 200lbs independently before becoming eligible for weight-loss surgery, which enabled her to lose another 300.
