The gig is set to take place at The Grand Social in Dublin next month
A new Irish-language music event will take place in Dublin next month, showcasing the next generation of artists performing as Gaeilge.
Glór Ár Linne, organised by Raidió Rí-Rá with support from Creative Ireland and Dublin City Council, will be held at The Grand Social on Wednesday, September 17.
The gig marks the first anniversary of the initiative, which mentors emerging Irish-language musicians.
The line-up features Aisling Moran, Jessie and the Veil, Earthmover, Little Kings, Éire agus Chulainn and Lisa Murray, covering genres from trad and folk to pop and post-punk.
Over the summer, the acts took part in an eight-week programme of workshops and recording sessions covering songwriting, music production, performance and marketing.
Mentors included Sexy Tadhg, Megan Nic Ruairí (Bold Love) and Matt Ó Baoill (Tebi Rex).
The artists previously played at festivals including Féile na Gealaí and Cruinniú na nÓg, with upcoming performances at Electric Picnic as well as a series of Dublin pop-up gigs this month.
Raidió Rí-Rá station manager Emma Ní Chearúil said the project is about more than music.
“There’s a lot of talk about a ‘language revival’ lately, but it’s more than that – it’s a cultural revolution. We want to make sure the next Kneecap, Róis, or Huartan are being nurtured and supported to break into the music industry.”
