DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — A beloved Dothan chef is getting another shot in the limelight.

The owner of KBC Eatery in downtown Dothan will be starring on a Netflix cooking show.

Kelsey Barnard Clark is known for her grit, grace, and southern tradition and will be a host in the Netflix competition series ‘Next Gen Chef’ airing September 17th.

This incredible opportunity will allow her to work alongside some of the most successful, well-known cooks in the industry once again.

“I’m one of the host judges alongside Olivia Culpo and Carlton McCoy. It’s incredible. It’s a complete dream. It’s set and hosted at my culinary school, the Culinary Institute of America,” said Clark.

Clark is the season 16 winner of Top Shelf, an award-winning cooking competition series showcasing professional chefs and elite culinary skills.

The new Netflix series ‘Next Gen Chef’ will also be made by the creators of Top Chef.

Clark says the balance of not only being a mother but a business owner, author, and TV host is found by finding ways to simplify her everyday life.

“The biggest thing with it all and really having to balance is just being very present wherever you are, as you’re there, whether that is getting the kids ready for school or when you’re at work, just make the time count rather than trying to run around doing a million things a day,” Clark told WDHN.

KBC Eatery celebrated its ten-year anniversary, the same day the Netflix show was announced.

Kelsey says she wouldn’t be where she is today if it were not for the team of people who keep the restaurant going, supporting her journey and the person she is today.
