A beloved television star took to social media to pay tribute to a former colleague and fans thought it was perfect. Maureen McCormick appeared in two episodes of the series Camp Runamuck with David Ketchum before joining The Brady Bunch. After learning of Ketchum’s death, McCormick shared a throwback video of the two together and included a sweet note.

McCormick took to Instagram and posted a black and white photo still from filming that showed her with Ketchum. She wrote, “Rest In Peace David Ketchum. What an honor it was to work with you way back in 1966 on the tv show ‘Camp Runamuck.’ I will always remember your kindness. Thank you.”

Ketchum played the role of “Spiffy” in the 26-episode series that ran for just one season. McCormick played “Maureen Sullivan” in the pilot episode, which aired in 1965, and appeared again in episode 16, which aired in 1966. She would have been just 9 or 10 years old when she filmed her two episodes. She began working on The Brady Bunch in 1969.

As McCormick’s IMDb page indicates, Camp Runamuck was one of her first acting roles. Before that short stint, she also appeared in two episodes of Bewitched.

The Hollywood Reporter noted that Ketchum was both an actor and writer who appeared in shows such as Get Smart, The Andy Griffith Show, and The Mary Tyler Moore Show. During the height of his career, Ketchum also wrote for almost 50 different television shows. He had a hand in scripts for episodes of Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, Here’s Lucy, M*A*S*H, and even Full House.

McCormick’s Instagram tribute received dozens of comments from supporters over the span of a few hours.

“Beautiful pic of you two, Maureen. Invaluable memories. God bless David Ketchum,” read one comment.

“I’m sorry for your loss. The kindness folks show us when we start out is a blessing and it really sets the bar high,” wrote a fan.

Someone else shared, “Soo sorry about your friend Maureen! You look like such a cute happy camper in this!”

“Wow, another piece of nostalgia gone. May he rest in peace,” added another fan.
