Country star Luke Combs sent a bold message while shooting his shot with Taylor Swift in hopes of a future music collaboration.
On Wednesday, Aug. 20, the singer—known for his cover of Tracy Chapman‘s “Fast Car”—spoke with Extra after receiving the ACM International Award at the 18th ACM Honors in Nashville.
Combs, 35, opened up about meeting Swift, also 35, for the first time at her boyfriend Travis Kelce‘s Tight End University in Nashville in June. The NFL player co-founded the event alongside George Kittle and Greg Olsen.
“I got to meet her recently at the Tight End U… She was in town for that. She was really, really great,'” he told the outlet. “Her music is undeniable. It would be impossible to not know like every one of her songs almost.”
When Extra’s Alecia Davis said she’d love if Combs and Swift collaborated one day, the country star replied, “‘It’d be fun. Yeah, that would be a good time.”
Combs wasn’t the only person left impressed by Swift at TEU. “I shook her hand, I still haven’t washed my hand,” Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson reportedly said after meeting the pop star at the event. “She’s so normal, she’s so nice! Not that I was expecting anything different, but like, she knew football. She was talking like, ‘We [the Chiefs] got a big game at Cowboys this year!’”
In June, Swift’s presence at Tight End University also made headlines left and right. One viral clip showed the pop star performing “Shake It Off” at a TEU afterparty. Additionally, Swift and Kelce turned heads while posing with controversial Bussin’ With the Boys podcasters, Will Compton and Taylor Lewan. Kelce later appeared on their podcast on July 1.
In other Swift news, the “So High School” singer announced her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, on Aug. 12. She also nearly broke the internet when she made her debut on Travis and Jason Kelce‘s New Heights podcast one day later to reveal the album cover and release date: Oct. 3, 2025.
Swifties and football fans alike are also gearing up for the new NFL season to kick off. For Travis’ Kansas City Chiefs, the first regular season game is against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 5 at Corinthians Arena in São Paulo, Brazil. Hopefully, Swift will show off more fabulous game day outfits this season!
