If you’re like me, half your anticipation for the new season of Peacemaker was based on seeing the show’s new opening dance sequence. The one James Gunn delivered in the first season was a revelation, a hilarious sequence of killer music, crazy pop and locks, and somehow also storytelling. Now that season 2 is here, though, the opening credits left many disappointed.
Peacemaker season 2 gave us a great new dance, but Gunn also changed the music from a high-octane hair-metal bop to a more thoughtful rock opera. It’s still good, but you probably thought something was missing if you watched it. So we fixed it.
The season 1 music was all it needed. The song is Wig Wam’s “Do Ya Wanna Taste It,” as heard in the season 1 credits. Now, Peacemaker’s second season credits sequence is as perfect as the season one dance.
