One royal expert has shared her scathing review of Meghan Markle’s Netflix series ‘With Love’ as the second season rolled out on Netflix.
On Tuesday, August 26, the second season of Duchess of Sussexes’ lifestyle series premiered following mixed reviews after the debut season. Ingrid Seward, a royal biographer and editor in chief of Majesty magazine, criticized the series’ lack of relatability and shared how she believes prominent members of the royal family would react to the footage.
Some Netflix users have already weighed in with their early reviews of the season with some branding the new batch of episode’s “boring.” In an interview with The Express US, Seward shared her two-cents as she said, “Meghan can disguise a lot of things, but she cannot hide her desire to control and the love of the sound of her own voice. Behind her pearly white smile and sparkly brown eyes everything is about control.”
The royal expert continued, “She says cooking is a love language but where is the love? Her part in this Netflix second series just doesn’t seem real.”
Seward went on to critique Meghan’s cooking show noting how it would be unattainable for the average person to replicate. She said, “Please Meghan tell us something that makes sense; is possible to do without having all the time in the world; a kitchen equipped with every modern convenience and a garden full of fruit vegetables and flowers.”
The royal expert then cut Meghan some slack as she added, “He would have appreciated her ability to fillet a fish and loved her guest the Michelin starred chef, Clare Smyth who was described by Gordon Ramsey as, ‘one of the greatest chef’s to have graced my kitchen.'”
Meghan previously hired Clare to prepare her wedding dinner that catered 200 guests during their formal reception at Windsor Castle inside the Frogmore House. After enjoying the delicious meal, Meghan invited the talented chef to make a guest appearance on her Netflix series to give her fans an inside look at the process behind Michelin star fine dining.
Seward went on to add that she believes Prince Harry and Meghan are going to be fine whether or not the new season does well. She said, “Harry and Meghan won’t be hurt whether the second show is a success or a failure as whatever way it goes it will certainly sell Meghan’s produce for Netflix, which is what it is all about. Money is success for the Sussexes and although they would love to have a critically acclaimed show, they seem less likely to do so as time goes on.”
Seward believes that no matter what product the Sussexes push out, they’re going to garner interest from the public and continue to build their fortune.
She said, “The notoriety of the Sussex brand and the publicity anything they do attracts sells for them and the more they get noticed and talked about the more money they can make.”
And with this, Seward added that she thinks Prince Harry and Meghan can both be profitable pursuing their own passions. She said, “Harry can concentrate on his charitable works which Meghan explains are so important to him and she can keep making TV. Their brand might be damaged but both Meghan and Harry are laughing all the way to the bank.”
The royal expert concluded, “And the royal family couldn’t care less as long as they are not mentioned.”
