WAYNESVILLE, Ohio — Looking for a break from reality? Maybe you love “The Lord of the Rings?” Or perhaps you just enjoy a good, giant turkey leg.
If any of these things are of interest to you, perhaps a visit to the Ohio Renaissance Fair is in order. If that’s the case, you’d be in luck as the festival makes its return this weekend, bringing knights, armor, fairies, pirates and more back to Ohio for the rest of the summer and this fall.
The festival includes various themed weekends, with opening weekend being 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Aug. 30 through Sept. 1.
Here are the themed weekends moving forward:
- Fantasy Weekend: Sept. 6-7
- Feast of Fools: Sept. 13-14
- Pirates Weekend: Sept. 20-21
- Time Travelers Weekend: Sept. 27-28
- Viking Weekend: Oct. 4-5
- Highland Weekend: Oct. 11-12
- Romance Weekend: Oct. 18-19
- Heroes & Young Adventurers: Oct. 25-26
Visitors can enjoy plenty of food and drink as well as live shows. They can also shops at the village’s various vendors, selling all sorts of goods ranging from jewelry to cloaks to swords and more.
You can purchase tickets to attend the festival here. Tickets are $39.57 for adults if purchased online or $42.57 if bought at the gate (assuming they are still available). For kids age 5-12, tickets are $12.40 if bought online or $14.40 if purchased at the booth.
The festival was recently ranked second in the U.S. in the USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards for best Renaissance Fairs.
