The Western Regional Off-Track Betting Corporation is marking record growth through the first half of this year.
Western Regional OTB president and former Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown presided over the corporation’s mid-year report presentation on Wednesday.
OTB officials say they’ve set all-time highs nearly every month so far this year.
This comes after Brown announced a 5% reduction on net gaming revenues in May, approved by lawmakers as part of the state budget.
Brown says the OTB contributes revenue to 17 communities from Chautauqua to Cayuga counties.
“Batavia Downs is a premier entertainment destination in Western New York, and our customer base has been consistently growing, which is producing more revenue to benefit our member municipalities,” Brown said in a statement on Aug. 11.
“Member municipalities are on track to record a record growth in 2025 with nearly every county and city to receive 40-50% more than last year,” said Dennis Bassett, Rochester board member of Western Regional OTB.
