“Euphoria”’s Alexa Demie makes rare comment on how she really felt about Barbie Ferreira exiting before final season

Veteran actor Floyd Levine, who starred in several classic television series, including Kojak, Cagney & Lacey, Melrose Place, and Baywatch, has died. He was 93.

The passing was confirmed by Levine’s daughter-in-law, Tracy Robbins, who shared the news on her Instagram on Tuesday (August 26). “My beloved father in law, Floyd Levine, passed away peacefully yesterday on August 24, surrounded by his beautiful family (and probably wishing someone would bring him a martini),” she wrote alongside a slideshow of photos of the actor.

Robbins continued, “The best father-in-law, grandpa, and all around jokester, Floyd loved Frank Sinatra, classic films, and making everyone laugh. He started out as a cab driver in New York City before chasing Hollywood dreams in California, building an amazing acting career along the way.”

“Here’s to my forever Brooklyn boy, Floyd , may the martinis be cold and the Sinatra songs never end! I would like to think there’s a casting call in heaven, and you showed up early, script in hand,” she added.

A cause of death was not provided.

Born on February 23, 1932, in New York City, Levine worked as a taxi driver in New York for many years before moving to California to pursue an acting career. One of his first credited on-screen roles came in the 1972 blaxploitation crime drama film Super Fly.

He went on to appear in several more movies throughout the 1970s, including Dog Day Afternoon, The Death Collector, Bloodbrothers, and more. In addition, he began appearing on TV, featuring in classic series such as Kojak, Baretta, Starsky & Hutch, Wonder Woman, and Quincy, M.E.

Some of Levine’s most memorable roles were playing Desk Sergeant Lubin in three episodes of Cagney & Lacey, Lou Stanley in two episodes of Days of Our Lives, a Crime Gang Boss in a memorable episode of Baywatch, and Dr. Howard Stein in six episodes of Melrose Place.

In later years, he played the role of “The Tailor” in the Eddie Murphy film Norbit and another tailor in the 2009 comedy The Hangover. His final on-screen role came in the 2012 fantasy-comedy film A Thousand Words.

Levine was the father of film producer, director, and executive Brian Robbins (who took his mother’s surname), who served as co-CEO of Paramount Global from 2024 to 2025, until his departure from the company following the recent completion of the merger between Paramount Global and Skydance Media.

During his brief stint as an actor in the 1980s and 1990s, Brian appeared alongside his father in ABC’s Head of the Class. Brian also served as an executive producer on Kenan and Kel, in which Levine appeared in three episodes.
