Watch video of the scene of a Ben Stiller film shoot in Mamaroneck
Miller’s Toy Store in Mamaroneck has been renamed Rizzo and Son’s Party Supplies for a Ben Stiller film shoot.
Add Ben Stiller to the list of celebrities dining in Westchester. The actor/director/comedian, most recently the executive producer of “Severance” on Apple+ as well as the Showtime miniseries “Escape at Dannemora,” had the Chilean sea bass at 25 North in Mamaroneck on Aug. 27.
And that’s not the only Stiller spotting. According to social media posts, there were a host of film crews along Mamaroneck Avenue Aug. 27 and Aug. 28, where the sign for the longstanding family-owned Miller’s Toys was changed to Rizzo & Son Party Supplies.
Stiller is reprising his role as Greg Focker in “Focker In-Law,” a fourth installment of the “Meet the Parents” franchise, set to be in theaters next November.
Filming is supposed to continue through Sept. 2.
Westchester is an important filming location
Mamaroneck is not the only Westchester town to be given its 15 minutes of fame. Rye, Harrison, Purchase, Briarcliff Manor, New Rochelle and White Plains have recently been used for the Apple+ drama “Your Friends & Neighbors,” while Tarrytown and Yonkers have served as backdrops for HBO’s “The Gilded Age.”
Many other shows using Westchester for scenes have been nominated for the 77th Annual Emmy Awards, with winners to be selected via a live broadcast Sept. 14.
Topping the list of nominees are “Severance” and “The Penguin,” with 27 and 24 nominations, respectively — the highest of any series this year.
“Severance” locations included Bier House in Pleasantville and Trinity Lutheran Church in White Plains. HBO Max’s “The Penguin” filmed at Sleepy Hollow Country Club and various Yonkers locations. Other shows include “The Diplomat” (Netflix), filmed at Sundial Farm in Ossining, and “Poker Face” (Peacock), which filmed at The Octagon House in Irvington.
