On July 17, 1918, the Russian Ruling Dynasty, The Romanov family, which including tsar Nicholas II, his wife Alexandra, and their 5 children, were brutally executed by the Bolsheviks in the basement of the Ipatiev House in Yekaterinburg, Russia. The execution marked the end of the 300-year-old Romanov dynasty.
After the execution, their bodies were taken to a remote area in the woods, where they were stripped, mutilated, and burned beyond recognition. The remains were then buried in a secret grave, hidden from the public eye.
It wasn’t until 1991 that the remains of the Romanov family were discovered and identified through DNA testing. A funeral was held for the family on July 17, 1998, in St. Petersburg’s St. Peter and St. Paul Cathedral, where members of other royal family came and attended the funeral Romanovs.
