This week is set to be a cracker for telly fans, with a host of new shows hitting the screens that are sure to keep you glued to your sofa.

Over on ITV, Stephen Mulhern is back with a brand new game show where he challenges a slew of celebs to take part in mind-boggling tasks. Meanwhile, Channel 4 is bringing back The Great British Bake-Off for another season of delicious drama.

The Beeb is also stepping up its game with a thrilling new series titled The Guest, starring Eve Myles and Gabrielle Creevy. This gripping drama delves into the perils of toxic friendships, and it’s guaranteed to send shivers down your spine.

You Bet! On Tour

Saturday, ITV

Stephen Mulhern is taking his game show on the road, and he’s bringing a gaggle of celebs along for the ride. Holly Willoughby, Zoe Ball, Rylan Clark, Judi Love, Oti Mabuse, Johnny Vegas and Josh Widdicombe are just some of the famous faces joining Stephen at various UK locations as they try to guess whether plucky members of the public can pull off their challenges or not.

Each contestant, whether showcasing a quirky talent or attempting a heart-stopping mega stunt, is vying for the weekly title of You Bet champion, and a cool £5000 cash prize.

Over a decade after the first series aired, cameras are heading back to Thornhill Community Academy in Dewsbury for another glimpse into the lives of the students and staff at this Yorkshire secondary school.

English teacher Mr Burton has now stepped up as Head Teacher, and along with his new team, he’s tackling challenges left, right and centre. From a national attendance crisis and the influence of social media on his students, to an increase in teenage anxiety and struggles to recruit new teachers at a time when nearly a third leave the profession within five years.

Of course, there are new students to get acquainted with too, and a plethora of memorable characters roaming the corridors who are sure to become fan favourites.

When Ria (played by Black Doves’ Gabrielle Creevy) begins cleaning for business owner Fran (portrayed by Torchwood’s Eve Myles), she becomes captivated by her confident and self-assured boss, who encourages her to take charge of her life.

However, when Fran’s advice leads to a shocking event, the lives of these two very different women become entwined by shared secrets and dangerous plots in this four-part thriller created by Industry and Men Up writer Matthew Barry.

It’s time for a new batch of aspiring bakers to step into the iconic tent and present their creations on the gingham altar for the judges’ inspection. All of them are hoping for a coveted Hollywood handshake while praying they don’t receive criticism for their soggy bottoms.

Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond are back on hosting duties for the Great British Bake Off, with Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood scrutinising the signature challenges, technical bakes and showstoppers. The spin-off show An Extra Slice, hosted by Jo Brand and Tom Allen, will be returning to our screens on Friday evenings.

This dating show features 12 singles looking for love, who head on honeymoon with someone they’ve only met for five minutes during a speed date.

Each of the six couples are left on remote tropical beaches, where they must learn to work together and communicate effectively as they face the show’s surprise challenges.

Long Lost Family: The Mother and Baby Home Scandal

Presenters Davina McCall and Nicky Campbell delve into the scandal of the Mother and Baby homes that dealt with unmarried mothers in the UK during the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.

As campaigners demand an apology from the government following mounting claims of cruelty at the homes, the hosts help some of the mothers who were pressured to give their children up for adoption, reuniting families that have been tragically separated for decades.

The coolest member of the Addams family, Wednesday, is back for the final four episodes of the second series. Alongside Jenna Ortega, we’ll see Gwendoline Christie (as Wednesday’s deceased school principal-turned spirit guide) and Lady Gaga in a role yet to be revealed.

The cast also includes Dynasty star Stephanie Beacham, Star Trek: Next Generation’s Marina Sirtis and EastEnders‘ Nina Wadia.

The mockumentary team behind the US version of The Office are back with a new sitcom, this time focusing their cameras on the staff of a historic but struggling Midwestern local newspaper.
