The professional dancer is currently preparing for his return to the ballroom, having been confirmed in the dance show’s pro line-up for 2025 earlier this year.
As fans will know, Kai, who joined Strictly back in 2021, wasn’t given a celebrity partner, much to the upset of fans of the BBC One dance contest.
He was, however, still very much been part of Strictly’s 20th-anniversary series, partaking in the group numbers and performing during the musical acts who appear during the weekly results shows.
Kai was also spotted supporting his fellow Strictly stars in the ‘Claudatorium’ each Saturday night with the show’s co-host Claudia Winkleman.
But after missing out on a celebrity partner during the hit dance show’s 20th anniversary series, the dancer took part in the Strictly Come Dancing Live 2025 tour where he was seen back doing what he does best alongside Gladiator Montell Douglas.
Now, with weeks to go until the Strictly 2025 launch, which is expected to be pre-recorded then aired on September 20, some fans think they have spotted who Kai could be parterned with, bringing him back into the competition this year.
Vicky Pattison, who is among the 15 celebrities set to take part in the show this year, took to Instagram earlier this week where she described her recent ‘whirlwind’ as she prepares to make her Strictly debut.
Alongside a string of pictures shared to Instagram, in which she could be filming back in the North East for her VTs that will introduce her onto the show, as well as keeping up with her other working commitments, Vicky said: “Some recent @bbcstrictly bits…

It’s been a proper whirlwind but super exciting too! Absolute pleasure to film back in the north east as well with the lovely VT team.”
She added: “I just can’t wait to find out who my partner is now and get cracking!!! Arghhhhh! Who do you guys think I’ll be paired up with? Whoever it is… I hope they’ve got the patience of a saint.”
And fans were quick to suggest Kai as her professional partner, saying it is ‘meant to be’. @oj_amam said: “Love you to be with with Kai.”@georginashinebandgeek commented: “I’m properly rooting for you and @kaiwidd to be paired, I feel like you’d compliment each other and he’s got Geordie blood it’s meant to be.”
