Eefje “Sjokz” Depoortere has won the award for being the Esports On-Air Talent of the Decade at the Esports Awards. The award, which is one of the awards given at The Decade Award Ceremony, recognizes industry-defining figures of the decade. Furthermore, The Decade Award Ceremony is part of the “Summoner of Celebration” and was held alongside the Esports World Cup. Here, 9.8 million votes were cast by the fans to celebrate and pay tribute to esports and gaming’s best figureheads.
Sjokz began her career in the esports industry as an interviewer for gaming org SK Gaming and media org CyberSportsNetwork. Additionally, she also used to host a weekly news recap show for League of Legends that was called Summoner’s Recap. After she participated in Travis “Tnomad” Gafford’s weekly “Whose League is it anyway?” show, she started to gain more visibility.
Now, Sjokz is one of the most recognizable female faces in the esports industry, particularly among League of Legends fans. She is most known for her work as on-air talent for the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) in Europe. Aside from her work as part of the LEC, Sjokz has branched out and has also hosted Counter Strike events.
