There’s less than a month of summer left? Say it ain’t so! Well, it is so, and we need to milk these last few weeks for all they’re worth. Here’s a varied list of happenings around Greater Cleveland. It’s not too late to get your summer on!

ONGOING

What: With A Dash of Flair – This exhibit shines a light on the past and present contributions of journalists, visual artists, poets, intellectuals, educators and entrepreneurs to American history and culture. 

When: Mondays through Saturdays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  

Where: Cleveland Public Library’s Special Collections Reading Room, 325 Superior Ave. On view through Oct. 3.

THROUGH LABOR DAY

What: For all the coaster enthusiasts and/or lovers of funnel cakes and vinegar-laden wedge fries, this is the final weekend of Cedar Point’s regular 2025 season. 

When: Daily through Labor Day – 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Labor Day.  After that, select rides and attractions will be open Fridays through Sundays for HalloWeekends Sept. 11 to Nov. 2.

Where: 1 Cedar Point Drive, Sandusky.

THROUGH AUG. 31

What: Cleveland Wing Week offers foodies 7 days of $7 wing deals from 27 restaurants throughout Greater Cleveland. Use the QR code from the Wing Week website for all the particulars on how to map out your culinary excursion. 

 When: Daily through Aug. 31. Those who check into at least four restaurants via the app will be entered into a drawing to win $250 in gift cards. 

Where: Participating restaurants. Wing Week continues through Aug. 31.

THROUGH SEPT. 7

What: There is still time to catch the Takashi Murikami exhibit,a cornucopia of contemporary Japanese art including anime, manga and more that has taken Cleveland by storm.  

When: Tuesdays, Wednesday, Saturdays, Sundays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesdays and Fridays 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. through Sept. 7.  Reservations are required for timed entry tickets.  

Where: Cleveland Museum of Art, 11150 East Blvd.

AUG. 28

What: Sierra Delaine – one of the Rock Hall’s artists in residence – will provide a free happy hour performance on the Union Home Mortgage Plaza. 

When: 5 to 7 p.m. 

Where: The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, 1100 Rock and Roll Blvd. 

What: Food, music, rides, livestock shows, wood carving, tractor pulls, a demolition derby and more await Geauga County Fair attendees. On Sunday, Aug. 31, at 8 a.m., there will be a 5K race/1K fun walk. 

When: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through Labor Day. 

Where: Geauga County Fairgrounds, 14373 N. Cheshire St. 

AUG. 29 

What: The 20th Annual Cleveland Oktoberfest returns for six days of beer, bratwurst, Bavarian merch and music.  

When:  Aug. 29, 4 p.m. to midnight; Aug. 30, noon to midnight; Aug. 31, noon to midnight; Sept. 1, noon to 8 p.m.; Sept. 5, 4 p.m. to midnight; Sept. 6, noon to midnight. Admission ranges from $19 to $98 (VIP); Labor Day is Military Monday. Present your military ID at the box office and receive free admission. 

Where: Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds, 19201 E. Bagley Road, Middleburg Heights, Ohio. 

What:  Grammy-winning performer St. Vincent featuring Gustaf comes to Cleveland for a concert at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. 

When: 8 p.m.; doors at 7 p.m. Tickets are $55 (general admission) and $75 – with museum admission.

 Where: The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, 1100 Rock and Roll Blvd.

What: Kamms Corners Greek Festival celebrates 15 years of food, music and live dance.  

When: 3 to 9 p.m. Aug. 29; 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Aug.30 and 31; 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 1. Where: 3853 W. 168th Street. Free parking,

What: 15th Annual Made in Ohio Art & Craft Festival featuring Ohio artisans, local cuisine and much more.  

When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 29-31. Admission $6 to $12. 

Where: Hale Farm & Village, 2686 Oak Hill Road, Peninsula, Ohio.

What: Come hungry to the 2025 Cleveland Taco Festival featuring more than 30 of Cleveland’s favorite taquerias and eateries. Enjoy live entertainment on two stages, family-friendly activities, Lucha Libre wrestling, art vendors and more. 

When: Aug. 29 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Aug. 30 and 31 noon to 10 p.m.; Sept. 1 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.    

Where: Jacobs Pavilion, West Bank of the Flats.

AUG. 30

What: An annual family-friendly lakefront tradition, the Cleveland National Air Show returns to Northeast Ohio with parachuting, military jet demonstrations, aircraft tours, interactive exhibits, and scheduled performances by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. 

When: Gates open daily at 9 a.m., and close at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, through Monday, Sept. 1. No re-entry after 3 p.m. Tickets range from $20 to $45 and must be purchased in advance.No gate sales.Those purchasing general admission tickets are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. 

Where: Burke Lakefront Airport, 1501 N. Marginal Road.  

AUG. 31

What: The City of Akron presents the 3rd annual City Festival. Enjoy a day of family-friendly fun including face painting, food vendors, a live DJ, a fashion show and a talent show. 

When: Noon to 6 p.m. Parade kicks off at 1 p.m. from the Spaghetti Warehouse parking lot.

Where: Lock 3, 200 S. Main Street.

What: Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic. Nothing says the end of summer like the start of football.This annual competition pits the Miles College Golden Bears against the Virginia Union University Panthers – both 2024-25 conference champions. 

When: 4 to 9 p.m. 

Where: Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, 2121 George Halas Drive, N.W. Canton. Tickets: $25 to $75.

SEPT. 1 

What: A Cleveland tradition, the 11th Congressional District Labor Day Parade & Festival returns to Luke Easter Park in the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood for a day of festive fun and family-friendly activities. 

When: 11 a.m.  

Where: Luke Easter Park Family Pavilion, 3090 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

SEPT. 5-7 Bonus events

What: German Central Oktoberfest. Enjoy German culinary staples, beverages and live performances.  

When: Sept. 5 from 5 p.m. to midnight; Sept. 6 from 3 p.m. to midnight. $10; free parking. 

Where: 7863 York Road, Parma.

What: Columbus Oktoberfest

When: Kick-off party Sept. 4 at Columbus Hofbrauhaus from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 5 from 5 p.m. to midnight; Sept. 6 from noon to midnight; Sept. 7 from noon to 8 p.m. Free admission. Parking $10. All food and beverage sales are cashless. 

Where: Ohio Expo Center/ Ohio State Fairgrounds, 717 E 17th Ave., Columbus.

What: Annual German Family Society Oktoberfest. Enjoy a weekend of great food, live music and fun events including a log press, keg toss and amateur stone lifts. 

When: Sept. 5 from 6 p.m. to midnight, Sept. 6 from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., Sept. 7 from noon to 7 p.m. Free admission

Where: 3871 Ranfield Road, Kent
