Strictly Come Dancing’s Katya Jones told ‘gets better and better’ in show of support by co-star

She’s set to return to the famous ballroom this year, after the BBC confirmed its pro line-up for the 2025 series earlier this year

Katya Jones has been told it ‘gets better and better’ as she was shown support by one of her Strictly Come Dancing co-stars amid a tease she could have a celebrity partner again this year.

The professional dancer as been a fan favourite on the BBC One dance show since 2016, winning the show in her second series with Holby City’s Joe McFadden.

And she’s set to return to the famous ballroom this year, after the BBC confirmed its pro line-up for the 2025 series back in April. She’ll be joined in the show’s next run by Amy Dowden, Nadiya Bychkova, Karen Hauer, Nikita Kuzmin, Neil Jones, Gorka Marquez, and Luba Mushtuk.

Dianne Buswell, Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Michelle Tsiakkas, Aljaž Škorjanec, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley and Vito Coppola will also take to the ballroom once more.

But that wasn’t actually the complete line-up, as when the initial announcement was made, it was also revealed that two brand new professional dancers will be making their debuts when the BBC One dance contest returns their autumn.

The newcomers have since been revealed as So You Think You Can Dance champion Alexis Warr and Australia’s Dancing With The Stars’ Julian Caillon.

They’ve since been preparing for the new series, rehearsing and pre-recording the group numbers set to feature throughout Strictly’s 23rd series, while they’ve also been mingling with the 15 celebrities set to take part in the competition this year when it returns on September 20.

Before then, Katya has reflected on the past month (August) before the sparkles truly take over this autumn and through to winter. She took to Instagram with a string of snaps which included her enjoying padel, in the Strictly ballroom and hanging ou with friends.

Alongside the post, the star wrote: “Apparently it’s the last day of August. It was pretty darn good. And it’s about to get better …”

Strictly co-star Carlos, who also featured in the string of images and videos, was quick to comment, as he said: “It gets better and better! Enjoy life my girl.” Meanwhile, Karen commented: “Love [heart emoji].”

And fans were quick to respond too. @rhiannon_dv said: “It looks like you had the best time!! I can’t wait for your brunch and for Strictly to start, I’m so excited!!!”

@strictly_forever.x wrote: “You are so pretty Katya. I am so excited for strictly to start!!” @prehab_uk added: “What a month! And you’re just warming up.”
