Dancing With the Stars champ and former Bachelorette lead Kaitlyn Bristowe has shared some heartbreaking news with fans.
On Aug. 30, Bristowe posted an Instagram caption announcing that her step father, Rob, has been diagnosed with incurable cancer. She explained that Rob was diagnosed with cancer about eight months ago and he seemed to do extremely well with treatment. However, in a follow-up scan, oncologists found that the cancer had traveled to Rob’s stomach.
“I really do believe in the power of prayer, the power of manifestation, and the power of love. So please send it all his way. He means the world to me and our blended family,” Bristowe wrote.
The comments section filled with fans sending support and prayers for Bristowe and her family.
“Dear Jesus, please rid Rob of the Cancer in his body and restore this man back to optimal health, in your loving name, Amen,” one person wrote.
“Prayers. I know how you feel. My dad is going through the same kind of thing. It’s heartbreaking,” someone else added.
“Sending lots of love, hugs and prayers [his] way and for your mom and you and the rest of the family!” a third comment read.
“Sending your stepdad many many prayers. Stay strong,” a fourth Instagram user said.
Rob is married to Bristowe’s mother, Leslie, and has been a bonus dad to the reality star for many years. He was a big part of her time on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette and supported her through her Dancing With the Stars journey — all the way to her Mirrorball win.
